PetCam Series Turns Adorable Animals from Around the World Into Published Photographers

Chris Keeney, a San Diego-based photographer, enlisted the services of the most unlikely of photographers to capture the artwork for his latest book, PetCam. As the name suggests, the book uses a handful of animals from all over the globe to capture first-pet perspective photographs of their daily activities.

Chickens, pigs, cows, dogs and even guinea pigs that lived everywhere from Germany to Canada participated in the creation of these images.

To capture the photos without inhibiting the animals’ movement, Keeney outfitted them with lightweight cameras designed specifically for their respective frames.

Once placed on the animal, the cameras were set up to snap a photo over designated time frames, ranging from a few images per second to a few over the course of a minute. The results… well… they bark, meow, squawk and oink for themselves. Parks, backyards, beaches and other scenery highlight the adventures of Keeney’s unlikely assistants.

PetCam is available for purchase as a hardcover book on Amazon for $ 12. No word yet on whether any of the animal photographers in it are attempting to claim copyright.
